Concert

Ashley has met with both Marla and Heysol a few times individually in order to start to mentor them. Both of these girls are in high school and come from families that regularly attend church. Both are eager to study English and Ashley is helping them both as part of her time with them.

Gerson is in sixth grade. Kind of... The school that had been meeting in La Fe has stopped getting together. We aren't sure exactly why, but is seems as though the volunteer teacher has better things to do. It has been almost three months since the school has had regular classes. Gerson really wants to finish sixth grade so that next year he can go to high school. I have been able to get together with him a few times to 'tutor' him especially in math. In addition to working on math, I am able to talk with Gerson about life and his beliefs and what he thinks is important.

A ticket to the Concert.
Last night the church we attend had a big outreach concert. Ashley and I took Gerson, Heysol, and Marla with us and they each loved it. Our church just finished a sermon series on the 'super heros' of the Bible, so they used the super hero theme for the concert. They played music and had fun drama with Superman, Spiderman, and Batman and, most importantly, they had a clear presentation of the Gospel. We are so glad that we were able to go and support our church and that these three teenagers could hear the Gospel!
